Editorial Standards
Our goal is useful, understandable publishing that respects readers’ time.
Sourcing
Writers should attribute facts and quotations to reliable sources. When a story builds on another publisher’s reporting, that source should be named and the article should add context, explanation, analysis, or reporting of its own.
Accuracy
Headlines should reflect the article. Material claims should be checked before publication, and developing stories should be updated as facts become clearer.
Opinion and advertising
Opinion should be distinguishable from factual reporting. Sponsored or affiliate material should be disclosed. Commercial relationships do not give advertisers approval over editorial conclusions.
Corrections
Substantive errors are corrected promptly and transparently. Readers can report concerns through our Contact page.
