Data says XRP ETF buyers are $133M underwater—Bitwise blinked, rivals froze

According to Sosovalue data, U.S. spot XRP ETFs ended Oct. 2 with $1.658 billion in total net assets—about $133 million below $1.791 billion in lifetime net inflows. That gap implies buyers are currently underwater on a mark-to-market basis, based on the cited figures.

Only Bitwise moved on the day

Sosovalue’s Oct. 2 tally shows roughly $37 million in assets disappeared from the XRP ETF category versus Oct. 1, but only $3.28 million actually left the products. The sole outflow came from the Bitwise XRP ETF (ticker: XRP), while peers recorded zero net flow that day, per the same dataset. The remainder of the decline came as XRP reportedly traded up to $1.55 before sliding to $1.44 during the late U.S. session; the token was said to be between $1.47 and $1.49 afterward.

Who’s on top of cumulative inflows

By cumulative net inflows, Bitwise leads with about $677 million, ahead of Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ at $505 million and Canary’s XRPC at $490 million, according to the source data. Bitcoin.com News previously reported that a $7.20 million XRP ETF outflow on Sept. 2 also came entirely from the Bitwise product.

The deficit is widening

The asset shortfall versus lifetime inflows has been growing—from roughly $100 million a week earlier to $133 million on Oct. 2, per the source. Bitcoin.com News noted on Sept. 30 that XRP fund assets were shrinking even as inflows accumulated, citing net assets of $1.69 billion then. Two days later, the outlet said Solana funds overtook XRP products with $1.91 billion in assets.

Flows context and sentiment

The outflow followed what the source described as a strong late-September stretch: about $75.6 million in net inflows across Sept. 22–25 and $121.4 million for the month, with October opening on a $4.07 million inflow into Franklin’s product. Bitcoin.com News also cited social data showing XRP’s bullish-to-bearish ratio at 0.67 on the day the outflow printed.

Broader market move

The Oct. 2 XRP slide lined up with a bitcoin reversal. The source says BTC tapped $87,000 after a weak U.S. jobs report showing 29,000 new payrolls, then fell to $83,900 before a partial recovery. XRP’s low reportedly arrived within the same four-hour window.
