Webull Plugs Into X Cashtags—$BTC Chats Can Jump to an Order Ticket
Webull said on Oct. 2 that it joined X’s U.S. Cashtag Partner Program for stocks and cryptocurrencies, connecting asset pages and posts on X directly to Webull’s trading services. The company said the integration provides real-time quotes, interactive charts, and access to an order ticket.
What the partnership does
Cashtags—dollar-prefixed symbols like $BTC—organize financial discussion on X and provide price information. Webull’s group president and U.S. CEO Anthony Denier said, “The next generation of investing will be defined by how seamlessly technology connects information, intelligence, and action.”
How the handoff works
The integration directs users from X’s asset pages to participating providers for account log-in and order execution. Nikita Bier, then X’s head of product, previously clarified that transactions occur externally with those firms—not on X. Monique Pintarelli, X’s head of global advertising, said, “Our Cashtag partners make it possible to move seamlessly from discovery and conversation to a brokerage, without breaking the moment.”
Program timeline and scope
X introduced Cashtags in July 2012 to organize stock discussions. Interactive charts and brokerage links arrived years later, with the U.S. Cashtag Partner Program launching in September to shorten the path from discovering an asset to reaching a service that can handle orders. An April 14 rollout added interactive stock and crypto data for iPhone users in the United States and Canada, including a Canadian trading connection with Wealthsimple.
Who’s already connected
The initial U.S. partner roster included Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken, which announced its participation on Sept. 16. Kraken’s Cashtag flow takes users from posts and price charts on X to Kraken’s app or website to complete a transaction after logging in or registering.
The data angle
Webull’s agreement also opens opportunities to use X data such as investor sentiment, discussion trends, market narratives, and Cashtag activity, according to the announcement. Sentiment refers to attitudes toward an asset, and market narratives are explanations circulating about its performance or prospects.
Where Webull operates
Webull reports more than 28 million registered users globally and investment services across 18 markets in North America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
Stocks vs. cryptocurrencies
The partnership spans both company shares and digital assets. Stocks represent ownership in a business, while cryptocurrencies can be held, transferred, and used for payments. Buying and selling crypto can occur through exchanges or other supported services.
