Samsung said it will add USD Coin (USDC) transfers to Samsung Wallet for eligible US Galaxy users in the last week of October, enabling sends to compatible crypto wallets and bank payouts to more than 60 countries.

What Samsung is launching

According to the company, the new feature will be available on 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the US. Users will be able to send USDC internationally to supported crypto wallets and transfer money to eligible bank accounts in over 60 countries, where recipients can receive funds in their local currency.

Samsung said identity verification will be required to access the service.

Partners and infrastructure

Samsung said Bastion will provide the stablecoin account and payment infrastructure. Coinbase will serve as a sub-custodian via Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung also named Solana and Sui as technical partners.

Who can use it and what it costs

The company said the service will be limited to US residents aged 18 or older with eligible Galaxy devices running Android 13 or later. Samsung said it will not charge for USDC transfers to external wallets, though recipient platforms may impose fees. International bank transfers will carry charges that vary by destination and amount.

What could come next

Samsung said future features could include online and in‑store stablecoin payments. The company previously announced plans to integrate stablecoins into Samsung Wallet at its Galaxy Unpacked event in July, without naming supported assets, partners, or a timeline at that time.

Third‑party view

Borderless.xyz CEO Kevin Lehtiniitty told Cointelegraph that his company’s network will handle payouts in more than 60 countries, while Bastion provides the regulated infrastructure supporting the service. “Mass adoption was never going to come from people downloading crypto apps. It comes from the phone already in your pocket,” he said. Lehtiniitty also predicted that Apple and Google would add similar stablecoin features, framing international transfers as potentially becoming as simple as sending a text message.
